Description

Spathiphyllum sp. are grown for their imposing, white or cream-colored flowers, which are contrasted with dark-green, lance-shaped, inverse-lance-shaped, or oblong-ovate leaves that have distinct midribs. Flourish in a warm greenhouse or conservatory in frost-prone regions. Use in a muggy, shaded border in warmer climates. You can grow some Spathiphyllum species indoors. Give plants plenty of water, fertilize the soil evenly each month, and keep the humidity high. All year long, offer bright indirect light. When the container is overflowing with root growth, pot on. Grow in shady, humus-rich soil that is moist but well-drained outdoors.
